About Us

We were raised as Latter-day Saints in a home with parents navigating a mixed-faith marriage. Through our childhood, youth, and adulthood we were made aware of various views within our faith tradition.

Many experience heartache when a loved one “no longer believes” in their long-held family beliefs. If your family and friends are anything like ours, someone you love is navigating a faith journey that is different than your own.

The Latter-day Illumination project hopes to help build bridges of understanding, perspective, and unconditional love within Latter-day Saint families and worship communities.

Understanding church history through the context of the nineteenth century is one way (among others) that helps start conversations and strengthen relationships with loved ones.

We enjoy American religious studies and find many aspects of the Mormon movement incredibly fascinating. As our knowledge has expanded, the capacity to love and respect others of all faiths has significantly increased. We hope this project allows us to journey into the future with more knowledge, tolerance, and peace.
